fight resistance or fight yourself
One dangerously powerful idea that changed my life.
Here’s a dangerously powerful idea that changed my life 7 years ago, back when I was inhaling more weed than oxygen (it was bad).
It will help you understand the world, so that you can take advantage of it (in a non-asshole way). And even better, it will help you overcome the weakest part inside you
Once you see it, you can’t un-see it.

Life in the ‘Inner Square’
If comfort and safety is what you want, you’re going to love this.
Life in the inner square is filled with comfort, and the only thing you need to do is make sure you limit yourself to the absolute norm (societal frame).
Make sure you never walk outside of the lines and keep an ordinary look, because if you do, there will be absolutely no resistance from people and organisations.
Instead you will only face internal resistance:
"Why do I have such low energy?"
"Is this all there is to my life? I feel something is missing."
"Why can't I stop scrolling, gaming, binge eating, or masturbating?"
Life in the ‘Outer Square’
Here you will not be limited to the boundaries of the societal norm, but in return you will face lots of external resistance.
People will actively judge you, organisations might oppose you, and in general you wil be corrected to step back inside to the norm. Those who are okay with that, will be rewarded with freedom, extra resources, and the ability to design their own rules in life.
The external resistance manifest itself as followed:
You want to create content instead of consume it 6 hours per day: fear of judgement.
You want to approach the girl instead of use dating apps: fear of rejection.
You want to quit the job and start your own business: fear of the unknown.
Example
In the Netherlands, for some fucking reason, there is a lot of hate for young entrepreneurs that leave the horrible weather of the Netherlands to go travel and work abroad. On social media, anyone who steps out of the 9 to 5 frame and remotely shows that life, gets absolutely trashed.
And that's what we're afraid of right?
Afraid to be judged or rejected by people who are even more afraid of it the same thing. Those are the triggers that will keep you between the lines.
This means that if you wanted to control the world…
…you’d only need to control the societal frame (inner square), because the people will reliably correct anyone who steps out of the societal frame!
This works so damn well because of human psychology: all of us want to live life according to our own rules, duh, so why don’t we? We're all scared and we resent ourselves for it, so when someone does have the balls to step out, we resent that person instead.
I see it this way...
I think it's very possible to live a decent life within that narrow inner square, if you just watch enough Netflix, get a stable job that numbs down the passing of time, and see your friends every 2 weeks.
You then invent enough additional distractions so that you don't have to answer the big questions your soul keeps asking. You distract yourself enough from that internal resistance.
There's nothing wrong with this, unless you have a fire in your soul...
A seed of ambition or curiosity that somewhere along your journey was planted, that has you longing for freedom and potential. Because in the outer square, there are no boundaries other than the ones you placed there.
This means you can create an authentic frame that matches you, instead of the one that was given to you externally.
You either live your life fighting resistance or you fighting yourself.
I know that this is the essence of everything, because I have done both.
I spend age 16 to 21 fighting myself: smoking weed, playing video games 8 hours per day, watching porn, and you can finish the list. Working at a furniture moving company where I counted down the hours until I could continue the cycle. Fighting myself because I didn't know what else to fight outside of myself.
Until you reach your breaking point.
I started a business, began training BJJ, and posting videos on YouTube. I wasn't my own enemy anymore. My new enemy was that life of limitation; the life inside that fucking inner square.
Adjusting every word and action to the norm.
Covering up regret with more layers of comfort.
I will never forget how my life was inside the inner square, and that's what fuels the fight against resistance every single day.
And the funny thing is, when you just start building the business, people still support you, because we all like an underdog. But that quickly changed once I became financially independent. And right now, I don't even share any of it anymore to most people, because it just creates tension.
We hate the person who successfully broke out that inner square, even when that person sacrificed 4 years of his life to get there.
It reminds them that they too have the choice, but rather fight themselves! And that's okay, that's how the system works and all, but it also means you need to understand this...
If you want to live a life of freedom according to your own design; nobody actually judges or rejects you, everyone judges and rejects themselves for not doing the same.
For the sovereign creator, it all comes down to a simple choice that needs to be made every single day again and again… do I fight the resistance, or do I fight myself today.
Oss, Roel.
PS: total sovereignty over your life can only be earned by building your business and brand, so that you own your cashflow and distribution. Fight resistance in these realms and you’re golden.
